My weekend was pretty darn great. I won VIP tickets to see X Japan at Madison Square Garden. I already had a floor ticket so I was going one way or the other but I can't say no to VIP!! So what to say about my brief stint in New York? Because there was good, bad, and oh-so-ugly.

First the good:

Amanda Palmer was freaking amazing, as per usual. She brought down the house and introduced us to four (yes, four!) opening bands and closed the show with David Byrne singing “Burning Down the House” together. She was charismatic and funny ( Read more... )

But I have things to look forward to: Amanda Fucking Palmer in NYC in a couple of days and then a month later in Los Angeles. And I'll be home for almost a week. That is the good.

It seems like I spend a lot of what little money I earn on concerts. With Florence and the Machine this weekend, Cirque du Soleil's Totem, Dead Can Dance, and now two Amanda Palmer concerts - one in L.A. and one in NYC - all coming up within the next couple of months.

Wow, these past four days just flew past.
I was ridiculously busy and am paying the price for it now.
